atefeh sahaaleh

On August 15, 2004, a 16 year old girl was hung on a public place of Neka, small industrial town at the edge of the Caspian Sea, Iran.
Atefah Sahaaleh was condemned to died for “crime against chastity” by mollah Haji Reza' I, judge, prosecutor and chief of the local government in a country which has just elected as chair islamist the integrist which is. The mollah himself obtained the authorization of the supreme Court of Iran to carry out the young girl. He passed the cord to her to the neck of his own hands, before it is not hoisted using a crane posed on a truck.
Using images turned clandestinely in the birthplace of Atefah, of testimonys of people having known it, as well as reconstituted images, a film made by Monica Garnsey and Arash Sahami tells the terrible history of the life and the tragic death of an ordinary girl, under the influence of mollahs in Iran.
For having seen this report, it will be necessary to ask you these questions :
-Do we have to engage of the negotiations with a such government?
-Can we reasonably hope that they evolve to a minimum of humanity?
these questions are certainly determined and nobody will change that, but everybody throughthe world must know what does happen with the Iranian people.
